Research paper: The effect of non-operational family separations on family functioning and well-being among Royal Navy/Royal Marines families
A new study (published in February 2019) examines the impact of non-operational separation on Naval families and makes recommendations for future research and practical interventions.
This paper examines the impact of non-operational family separation, a regular feature of many Service families' lives, particularly among Royal Navy families, 36% of whom live separately from the serving personnel during the working week. This research, by Dr. Rachael Gribble and Prof. Nicola T. Fear from the King’s Centre for Military Health Research, was commissioned by the Naval Families Federation, with funding from Greenwich Hospital.
