Launch of the Thriving Lives toolkit case studies: A new resource for schools supporting Service children
Posted in News
We are excited to announce the launch of the first seven case studies in the Thriving Lives Toolkit Case Study Bank, a new resource designed to help schools improve their support for Service children. This initiative, funded by the Naval Children’s Charity, aims to provide a wealth of well-evidenced examples of best practice to assist schools in assessing their progress using the Thriving Lives Toolkit self-assessment.
These first seven case studies are now available to schools across the UK, offering real-world examples of how schools are putting the seven principles of effective support into practice. The case studies cover a range of primary and secondary schools at different stages of the self-assessment process—emerging, developing, and embedding—and reflect the diverse needs of Service children, from those in schools with low proportions of Service children to those with higher numbers.
The case study bank will be a searchable resource, enabling school staff to learn from others' experiences and apply insights to their own contexts. As part of the project, exemplification for each question has been developed, helping schools to recognise good practice within their own settings and identify actions to enhance support. In total, 50 case studies will be collected, providing a comprehensive and varied resource that will continue to grow over time as school practices evolve and improve.
These case studies will be hosted on the Toolkit’s online platform, where they will be accessible to all registered users. Schools can log in or sign up to access this valuable resource, which is aimed at enhancing the well-being and academic achievement of Service children.
The case study bank will play a key role in showcasing good practice, offering schools ideas and inspiration for enhancing the quality of tailored support for children and young people from Armed Forces families.
