Do you have a child or young person with special educational needs and/or disability?
Posted in Views by Dr Claire Lee and Alison Cotton, Oxford Brookes University
Researchers from Oxford Brookes University are conducting research exploring the educational experiences of children/young people who have additional learning or support needs and/or disability (whether diagnosed or not) aged 4-18 years. Taking part in the research would help develop crucial understanding around what is and is not working for children and their families, and the support needed for all children to thrive. The project is called Supporting All to Thrive | (sattproject.org.uk).
How to take part:
Survey (all families)
The link below will take you to a 10-25 minute survey to be completed by parents or carers of at least one child age 4-18 years who is considered to have additional needs (whether diagnosed or not) and who is in education in the UK. This includes children attending local authority schools and colleges, academies, special schools, independent schools, Ministry of Defence education and even children who are home-schooled or out of education.
The survey can be found here, please find more information below.
Arts -based workshops (UK Armed Forces or veteran families only)
This strand is for parents/carers from UK Armed Forces/veteran families with a child/young person aged 4-18 with additional needs. It would involve taking part in an informal, small group art workshop at a location convenient to you, to tell us about your child’s or your own educational journey. 'Service children' with SEND who are 16-25 can also take part.
A link to a form to express interest in the art workshops is here, please find more information below.
