Academic Consulting and Education Services (ACCESS) is working to better understand the experiences and needs of students from Armed Forces families in higher education as part of our wider Thriving through childhood and beyond project. The aim is to develop an evidence-based toolkit that will enhance support for students from Armed Forces families across UK universities.

Take part in a focus group or interview

ACCESS are inviting university students from Armed Forces families to share their experiences of higher education. They want to hear more about how being from an Armed Forces family impacts the university experience, including the benefits and challenges. They will be using these insights to develop a Toolkit that Universities can use in the future to support students who are from Armed Forces Families.

Anyone interested in taking part in a focus group or interview should follow the link below to register their interest.

Submit a survey response

Students and Higher Education Staff are also invited to complete a survey on the educational experience of university students from Armed Forces families,

The work supports the Thriving Through Childhood and Beyond project, a Naval Children’s Charity and SCiP Alliance partnership to expand the Thriving Lives Toolkit across the student life course, from early years through into higher education, covering children aged from 0-25. The project has been funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust, through the Transformational Grants programme.
