Hub Activity
Inspiring Choices, a Higher Education Outreach Partnership, is part of the Office for Students' Uni Connect Programme. They have successfully delivered impactful projects for Service children living in York and North Yorkshire. These initiatives include the Military Service Children Project, Armed Forces Day for Children, and a Military Service Children Residential. In early 2024, East Riding Council launched CPD workshops to help educators understand the impacts of military culture on Service children. Delivered in collaboration with York St John University and Ebor Academy Trust, these sessions provided valuable insights and practical tools for supporting Service children in schools and colleges. With highly positive feedback, this initiative is a key step in improving educational support for Service children.

The hub ran a follow up project with some of the school students from the Creative Forces events, who produced a poster explaining life as a Service child and how schools can support them.

The hub's first meeting took place on 8th March 2018 in York
