Hubs

South East Hub

The South East Hub was launched in May 2024 and is led by the Kent and Medway Progression Federation. The Hub brings together organisations from across the region (Kent and Medway & Sussex) who are committed to helping children from Armed Forces families to thrive.

There is a significant military footprint in Kent and Medway with 1460 Service children based across 270 schools. With a few notable exceptions most schools, across the region and the indeed the South East more generally, have small cohorts of Service children. A key part of the Hub’s role will be to bring together schools to consider how they can collaborate to offer children from Armed Forces families specific support.

The Hub aims to:

  • Convene stakeholders to develop new activity for service children
  • Influence the local culture and support practitioners to effectively engage with service children and their families
  • Contribute to national discussions to ensure research and policy is informed by local knowledge
  • Source further funding to expand the work of the South East Hub

The Hub works with schools and colleges from across the South East and also collaborates with local authorities and charities. If you would like more information or are interested in joining please contact Gavin Delf,
