The SCiP Alliance will be presenting, alongside the International Centre for Guidance Studies and Skills Development Scotland, at this seminar exploring careers guidance for Service children.
Young people whose parents/carers are in the military may experience exceptional life opportunities, but also systemic challenges linked to their families’ occupational commitments. What are the impacts on young people’s lives, particularly their education, mental wellbeing and career choices?
Careers practitioners need an in-depth understanding of the context in which these young people are making their life choices. This seminar will explore the underlying issues and showcase some of the approaches that have been adopted to raise awareness about the specific needs of Service children.
