Rainbow Room

St Lawrence Primary School runs a weekly Family Forces Club, led by the Nurture Lead and open to all pupils. It is a drop-in club over a lunchtime in the Rainbow Room, with children free to come and go as they wish.

World Map

At St. Lawrence Primary School, during the Family Forces Club, staff and Service children explore deployment destinations on a world map. They research these countries, focusing on positive aspects such as culture and wildlife.

Little Troopers Club

At St. Michael's C of E Infant School, Service children maintain a Little Trooper Separation Diary during their parents' deployment, which is shared with their parents upon their return. Additionally, the school features a display board with a map, photographs, and children's drawings.

Forces Information for Staff

Balksbury Federation has produced a booklet for school staff, which includes information on SPP, mobility, deployment, and transition. It details the school's support mechanisms and provides transition procedures and checklists for administrative staff, Community Support Leads, teachers, and PP Leads.

Forces Passport

Balksbury Federation has produced a Forces Passport for Service children. The class teacher completes this passport, which is then sent to the child's new school. It includes key information, learning behaviors, current attainment, education history, and any other relevant details.

Welcome Letter & Display Board

At Cottesmore Academy, the headteacher sends a personal letter to each new child, accompanied by a welcome booklet containing information about the school and details about the child's assigned buddy. Additionally, there is a welcome and farewell board displaying the children's names.

Joining and Moving On Checklists

At Cottesmore Academy, there are checklists for children joining or leaving the school.

Little Troopers Assembly and other events

All Service children at Baglan Primary School reported feeling heard and understood during a recent Little Troopers assembly, during which they shared their experiences and how they are supported in school. The Service children are offered many opportunities to get involved with events and the school has recently been awarded gold Armed Forces Friendly School Cymru status.
